Certified Briggs hard red spring wheat is a cross between BW114/Bergen/SD3097. Briggs is classed as an early maturing semi-dwarf. It is moderately resistant to both leaf rust and stripe rust and is resistant
to stem rust. It is widely adapted across South Dakota and the region. Milling and baking qualities are good.

Certified Blade hard red spring wheat is a high yielding, medium height, and medium maturity wheat with good standability for a standard height variety. Blade produces medium protein and high test weight grain. It is resistant to stem rust and moderately resistant to leaf rust, foliar disease, and scab. It is also moderately susceptible to stripe rust. Blade is a free threshing variety with good shatter resistance.

Traverse hard red spring wheat was tested as SD3687. Traverse is a semi-dwarf, similar in height to Briggs, with good straw strength. Traverse is an early maturing variety, a day later than Briggs. Traverse has good milling and baking characteristics, with average test weight and protein. Traverse’s greatest strengths are yield potential, yield stability, and adaptation.

Colt Oat is a new release from the South Dakota Ag Experiment Station with Foundation Seed first released in 2009. It is an early maturing variety, heading one day earlier than Don and two days before Reeves. Colt is the result of a cross of SD97575/ND941119. It has a test weight superior to Stallion and Jerry and lodging resistance equal to Jerry, but better than Stallion. Crown Rust resistance and yield potential is higher than Reeves.

Certified Jerry Oats is a cross between Valley/3RL3038/Kelsey/M22/Kelsey. Jerry is similar to Newdak in heading date and height. Jerry has white hulls which are fluorescent under UV light. Jerry has high test weight and high yields.

Certified Stallion Oats is a cross between Sd89507/Settler/SD93068. Stallion is a medium-late variety, 1-2 days later than Jerry, and is approximately two inches taller than Jerry. Stallion has high yields, test weight and groat percentage.

MUSTANG M-120 FORAGE OATS It is a late maturing forage oat that has good leaf rust resistance. M-120 oats is a high tonnage forage oat that has out yielded Jerry and Loyal on tons per acre. It is a tall variety with a wide leaf for those extra tons per acre.

Certified Millennium hard red winter wheat is a cross between Arapahoe/Abilene/NE86488. Millennium is an awned, white-glumed cultivar. It is slightly taller then Arapahoe and has good straw strength. Millennium flowers one day later than Arapahoe and is moderately resistant to stem rust and Hessian fly. High Yields.

Certified Overland hard red winter wheat is a cross between Millennium sib/Seward/Archer. Overland is white chaffed, awned, tall semi-dwarf wheat. Overland has good straw strength, similar to Wesley, and is shorter than Millennium by about 1”.
