FFA Blue Jacket Awarded to Local Youth
MADISON–Mustang Seeds, Inc. together with Monsanto participated in a program through the National FFA Foundation for an opportunity to have a FFA jacket awarded to a designated local FFA chapter.

Monsanto extended a significant offer to Mustang Seeds: Contribute $2,500 to the National FFA Foundation and Monsanto would match it. In recognition of Mustang Seeds’ contribution, the Madison High School FFA was designated to receive an official FFA blue jacket which was awarded to Brandon Schrepel and a $500 check was given to the Madison chapter.

Jim Hedges, U.S. Licensing Lead for Monsanto’s U.S. Seeds and Traits division in St. Louis, Missouri, said, “Agriculture is a rapidly changing industry. World populations are expected to grow to more than 9 billion people by the year 2050. To support this growth experts estimate that agriculture will need to produce more food in the next 40 years than we have in the past 10,000 combined. Now more than ever the importance of preparing future leaders in agriculture to meet this challenge is critical. It is reassuring to know that the National FFA organization is on the forefront of recruiting and preparing a diverse pool of talented leaders to meet this challenge as we move forward.” The licensees who participate in this program are strong partners and are helping support the next generation of FFA members who represent the future of agriculture.

“FFA prepares young people to lead, grow and achieve future success in more than 300 diverse careers through agricultural education” said Dr. Larry D. Case, chief executive officer of the National FFA Organization.
